Horses for courses (aka due diligence on your Workplace from Meta successor)

Work Networks and their technology partners

It’s been an interesting few months since Meta announced they were retiring Workplace.

Workplace customers were thrust into a world of confusion, not helped by software sales teams coming at them from all sides offering “seamless transition” and claiming to have “the best frontline app”, “the best employee experience platform” etc. I'm not criticising anyone for the land grab of course, and thankfully there is a lot of extremely good software out there, that in many cases has improvements over Meta's Workplace (including extra features and functionality and better integrations).

One thing all Meta customers have in common is that they didn’t plan for this, and therefore have no budget or resource lined up for the change. This is even tougher for already stretched non-profit customers who had Workplace for free as part of the Workplace for Good scheme, now having to contemplate the change with the addition of potential software costs.

Whether you’re looking for something similar to Workplace so you can just keep going as you were, or whether you’re looking to step up, take things to another level and do things a little differently (better integrations with operational and HR tech springs to mind) there will definitely be two or three options for you when performing due diligence on your Workplace from Meta successor.

We’ve spent a lot of time recently signing up partnerships and really getting to know the different vendors, their teams, and their products, so we can help our customers and provide the uniquely neutral advice they need. Our mission hasn’t changed, but our goal right now for Workplace customers is to help get them onto the most appropriate platform. And whilst in some cases some of the options seem similar, there is definitely a case of horses for courses once you get into the minutiae. Even our old Meta friends are backing different horses, landing at Flip, Humand, Workvivo by Zoom, Yoobic…

So if you’re currently confusing your vivo with your viva? Unsure whether to Blink or Flip? Struggling through the alphabet from Aptimo to Yoobic? Or wondering whether to make things Simpplr or more Humand. We are here to help you do your due diligence, and importantly to get the best deal and transition / migration plan.
